Important information for clients applying direct or Intermediaries applying on their client(s) behalf regarding Data Protection.

Information you have supplied will be used to:
- Process the application you are making.
- Make, undertake or cause searches to be made, with a credit reference agency, or agencies.
- The searches will be shown with any other searches that are made in connection with applications made by yourself and other members of your family or household.
- You should note that the disclosure of multiple searches may adversely affect your credit profile and may make credit or future loans/mortgages harder for you to obtain;
- Information held about you by a credit reference agency or agencies may already be linked to records relating to another person, for example your wife or partner, and for the purpose of your loan application will be treated as financially linked. Your loan application will be assessed with reference to all linked records;
- If you have confirmed you are linked financially with another person, you are declaring that you are entitled to disclose information about that person and/or anyone else referred to by you and that they have you authorised us and any lender involved in the application to search, link and/or record information at credit reference agencies about you and/or anyone else referred to by you.

We may also use the information:
- Offer you other products or services.
- Pass on your details on to a lender or lenders we feel may be willing to end you money.
- Pass on your details on to another broker, if we are not able to arrange finance on your behalf.
- Write to you in the future offering products we feel may be of interest.
- Pass your details to another broker in the future so they can offer you products they believe you may be interested.
- Permit access to your information by regulatory and or standard bodies to confirm that we are processing information correctly and complying with statutory regulation.
- We may keep the information for several years. However you can ask for this information not to be used to offer you other products.
- Any other broker or lender to whom the information is passed during processing your application may use it you information in the same way. Every company or person who processes or keeps data has a duty to keep that information up to date and accurate. If you are an Intermediary supplying information on behalf of your client(s) you must have obtained their expressed permission before disclosing their information. By accepting these terms you are acknowledging to British Overseas Mortgages that you have your client’s permission to disclose their information.
